R.I.P
Tuesday, November 28th, 2006I just received news last night about an ex-schoolmate passing away from a fever.
Then today, I found out that one of my student’s father & grandfather passed away on the same day too.
My condolences.

Real pain in the arse! Decide for god’s sake!
Every year in December, a lot of people in Singapore have the habit of getting married, engaged. Don’t ask me why but it just is.
But that is not the biggest piece of news. It’s the fact that the original party brothers have decided that they want to get engaged/married to their "significant" others. Err..guys..aren’t we rushing things here?!?! By all means, I should be happy for them but somehow, it feels…wrong.
What I have observed from them is that they have definitely changed once attached. They are now behaving like, like..should I use this word..PUSSYWHIPPED MEN! Sigh! The simple fact is we’ve been friends far longer than they have been attached. But one word from the S.O and they go running. There are plenty of other things that they’ve been doing. Like if S.O says not to go out, they go,"Can’t chill today, S.O’s gonna get angry" or "S.O says she feels jealous of so & so, so I can’t hang with you"….Hello!!! Have some balls, man!
Sigh…what is happening guys?? Us girls have more "balls" than you guys!!
After spending the last hour or so in the rain, I finally managed to get to the Big Bamboo. I wasn’t intending to come here earlier when I stepped out of my house but suddenly, the only address that I could remember was this place so…heh!
Anyways, this is only my second time here & I have yet to be disappointed with anything. The wait staff are friendly & they like to talk to me because:
1) I don’t look like Chinese
2) I try my best to speak Chinese to them when they don’t understand my english
3) The owner remembers me from the last time that I was here! (just means that I must have left a pretty good impression or I did something so dumb the last time I was here)Heheheh.
But seriously, the food is really good. I was very impressed with what I had today (Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken wrap). I used to think that pub/bar food = greasy/unhealty. Not anymore. They still do have the greasy stuff but they also have loads of good, healthy food. And of course, wide variety of beer! God, I sound like I’m advertising the damn place^_^!
Hahaha…let’s see. After my "I’m-so-lonely!" episode(I apologise if I made anyone worry, let’s just say pms hit me hard this month!), I am back to being happy me. I’m having a break from classes from today till Sunday which makes me happy! It just means that I get to explore, walk around, do whatever till Sunday!! Arab was really jealous when I told him this cos he’s been wanting a break since he started working for real now! Bwahahaha!!
Did I mention that the eye candy is worth the journey!?!?! Holy crap! Cute, I tell ya!
In my 2 years in China, I have never felt as alone as I did the last few days. I started questioning myself about every decision that I’ve made, everything that I’ve done. I might even have regretted certain things that I’ve done. And to top it off, I have got the worse case of the cramps ever. I spent the whole day in bed, curled up, not caring if I was starving. I didn’t have the drive to get up.
Then people started talking to me on MSN, just chatting. The usual suspects; Ferrari, The Boy, Whitey, even Spanky..I started to feel better but I just couldn’t shake off the feelings. I think I’m in need of good old friends.
Ok…I’m beginning to sound even more pathetic. I just hope that this will all be over soon.
I went to the Shanghai Foreign bookstore on Fuzhou Lu yesterday but I didn’t see a lot of variety on English books. You have the usual "Study English" or "Communicate like an American/British" etc but not much stuff on novels. Sigh..
Anyways, did the normal walking around till I got to The Coffee Beanery(took only 45 mins from the bookstore). As you remember, I used to hang out alot at the Beanery in Beijing. Anyways, the branch in Beijing has closed down (according to a very reliable source)which is kind of sad considering that the staff were always friendly & of course, my friends(Punker, Kawaii, Boy,Baller,Slossy etc) & I were comfortable(if only they had changed the CD more often so that we didn’t have to listen to MLTR’s "Take Me to Your Heart" a million times) to a certain extent there. Sigh..
So, I decided to check out the Beanery here. It’s much bigger plus they have separate areas for smokers/non-smokers. And of course, they do have free wireless.. The staff were friendly but for some weird reason, they didn’t seem to understand me when I spoke putonghua. Am I starting to suck at my Chinese?!? Hmm, anyways, it’s been great just sitting in a coffee place & just messing around with my baby. I miss doing this. Wish my Beijing Freaks were around.
Oh, before I forget, I have a "date" with Arab when I get back to Singapore!!Bwahaha! I suggested One Rochester & he said ok! I think I’m going to make it more fun & bring Toonz & Powz too!! Yay, FUN!! So, Toon/Powz, we’re gonna go when I get back ok!!
Ok, I just found out tday that the class will be going to the zoo tomorrow. Hmmm, do I really wanna do this to myself? After my scare at Beijing Zoo last time, do I really wanna make myself even more depressed?
This time round, I’ll make sure that I bring my camera so that people can understand why I said I get depressed at the zoo. Don’t get me wrong. I love going to the zoo. I love going to Singapore zoo which is clean & you can see that the animals are kept in tip top condition. Maybe I’m just biased.
Anyways, I’ll post the pictures as soon as I get it so ….next time then..
